Unity in Color Houston, A Feminist Visual Experience

On July 8th, 2017, a group of 11 women came together in Houston to show solidarity for women’s rights, feminist pride, the celebration of women of color, and to pay homage to the womanists before them. Produced by Nyla of Thoughts of Caught in My Fro, photographed by Danie of@The.Danie, and created by DJ & TV Host Jasmine Solano, Unity in Color is an international “artistic photography series…[that represents] the unity in our strength of diversity. We acknowledge our history as we move towards our collective future. We wear yellow and gold as a nod to earlier feminist movements and ancient symbols of the divine feminine, while acknowledging that inclusive and intersectional feminism is our standard today.” - Unity in Color
